How Do I Go To My Blocked List On Iphone
Blocking numbers is a very convenient way to gain respite from unwanted calls, whether you know the caller or not. But sometimes numbers end up on the block list by mistake. Or maybe the contact is back in your good graces and it's time to reconnect.
Here's how to find out who made your iPhone Naughty List and decide whether it's time to Unblock them or leave them there a little longer.
Viewing Your Blocked Numbers on an iPhone
Just like Apple's many iPhone renditions, there are also a variety of ways you can view and manage your blocked number list. They all essentially lead to the same place, so pick the one you feel most appropriate:
Via Your Phone
Checking out your blocked numbers list using the phone app is a relatively simple process.
First, go into the Settings menu and scroll down to the Phone option. Tap on the Phone to bring up a new sub-menu. From that menu, select Blocked Contacts.
Via FaceTime
Is it time to reconnect with a loved one that you blocked from FaceTime? You can manage your blocked list for the app by going to your iPhone settings. Tap on the FaceTime selection to get to the next menu.
Close to the bottom of the menu, you'll see the Blocked option. Select it to see your Blocked numbers list.
Via Messages
Viewing your Blocked Contacts for Messages starts with your Settings app. Open your iPhone's Settings and scroll to the Messages option. Tap on Messages to open the next sub-menu.
Select SMS/MMS and then Blocked Contacts to view your Blocked Numbers list.
Via Mail
This last way of accessing your Blocked Numbers list is slightly different, but the premise is the same.
Go into your iPhone's Settings menu and scroll down until you see the Mail option. Tap on Mail and then Blocked to see your list of Blocked Numbers.
Simple Blocked Contacts Route to Remember
When in doubt, just remember this simple order for accessing your Blocked Numbers:
Settings app -> Phone/FaceTime/Messages -> Blocked Contacts
Mail has slightly different wording for their menu option:
Settings app -> Mail -> Blocked
Quick Tips for Blocked Numbers on iPhone:
1. The Blocked Numbers list is the same across the different applications.
You don't need to visit the Phone settings list and then Messages or FaceTime to add or remove users from the list.
2. Incoming calls go directly to voicemail.
Did you know that putting someone on the Blocked list doesn't necessarily keep you from hearing from them?
Their calls still go through. They're just directed to your voicemail instead of ringing to your iPhone. If the Blocked user does decide to leave you a message, they're hidden in the Voicemail section and you won't get a notification.
3. Blocked users who FaceTime or send Messages won't know they're blocked.
Talk about the cold shoulder!
Any users on your Blocked list who use FaceTime or Messages to contact you won't receive an alert to tell them they're blocked. Their calls also won't appear on your Apple devices. They'll just think you're ignoring their communication attempts.
4. Mail app Blocked users' messages go straight to the trash.
If you blocked someone on your Mail app, their messages get a one-way trip to the trash can or trash folder.
Of course, you can check out what you're missing by looking in the trash for that respective email account. But why would you?
Also, keep in mind that blocking emails works across Apple devices. If you put someone on your Blocked list on your phone, it applies to your iPad and Mac, too.
Unblocking with a Swipe
Many of the users on your Blocked Numbers list probably deserve it, right?
But if they've earned their way back into your good graces, you can reverse the process with a simple left swipe.
Yes, that's all it takes to invite these users back into your world.
Whether you intended the exile to your Blocked list as temporary or permanent, just know that you have the power to end it. And all it takes is the tip of your finger.
